Halloween will be very different in the age of COVID. Kids will not be able to go door to door in apartment buildings to trick or treat. Join Friends of Corlears Hook Park as we bring a safe trick or treating opportunity to the park.
Due to COVID protocols we are required to gather contact information for those attending the event in case contact tracing is needed afterwards. We have closed pre-registration at this time but will have a registration sign up at the event itself.
How it will work:
We will have various stations set up throughout the park during the two hour period of 11am-1pm on Halloween, manned by local families and community groups, where kids can safely pick up some Halloween treats. In order for us to have a safe event we ask everyone to follow the protocols listed below. If anyone in your trick or treating party is not feeling well please stay home.
• Trick or treating is one way only. Please enter the park at the Jackson Street entrance and exit at Cherry Street (see below map).
• We will have thermal temperature readers on hand and will be taking everyone’s temperature before they enter the trick or treating area. If a child arrives and is not able to participate due to fever we will provide them a pre-made goodie bag.
• Everyone participating in the event is required to wear a face covering over their mouth and nose (they will be available on site if needed).
• Hand sanitizer will be available on site as needed as well.
• Please help keep the line of trick or treaters moving. Do not stop to chitchat or play with any neighbors or friends you might run into, move on to the next station after getting treats and exit the park when done so that we can let more people in.
• We will have a handful of volunteers on hand helping with traffic flow, registration and temperature taking so please be courteous to them.
• We are asking trick or treaters to stagger their arrivals based on the schedule below.
o 11:00 – 11:30am last names M to Si
o 11:30am - Noon last names Sj to Z
o 12:00 – 12:30pm last names A to E
o 12:30 – 1:00pm last names F to L
